The Oyo State former Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning and APM candidate for Oyo Federal Constituency, Barrister Seun Temilolu Nurudeen Ashamu, has felicitated with Muslims across Oyo State and Nigeria on the occasion of this year’s Eid-ul-Adha celebration, calling on citizens to uphold the virtues of sacrifice, love, unity, and peaceful coexistence.

Speaking on the significance of the celebration, Barrister Ashamu urged Muslims to continue reflecting on the lessons of obedience and total submission to the will of Almighty Allah as demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim (AS).

While extending his heartfelt greetings to the Muslim Ummah, the Commissioner also expressed concern over the recent abduction incidents in Orire Local Government Area, noting that the development has left affected families and residents in fear and emotional distress in the last few days.

According to him, “At a time like this when families are preparing to celebrate Eid with joy and gratitude, it is painful that some of our brothers and sisters are still being held in captivity while their loved ones remain in fear and uncertainty. We pray Almighty Allah grants them safety and quick reunion with their families.”

Barrister Ashamu appreciated the commitment and efforts of the Oyo State Government, security agencies, and the Federal Government toward addressing security challenges across the state and the country.

He, however, appealed for more intensified actions and proactive measures to tackle insecurity, especially in vulnerable communities.

“I must sincerely commend the efforts of Governor Seyi Makinde-led administration, our security operatives, and the Federal Government for their interventions so far. However, there is still the need to intensify efforts through stronger intelligence gathering, collaboration, and swift response mechanisms in order to protect lives and property effectively,” he stated.

The Commissioner further used the opportunity to pray for peace, stability, and economic prosperity in Oyo State and Nigeria as a whole.

“As we celebrate Eid-ul-Adha, let us continue to pray for Oyo State and Nigeria. May Almighty Allah restore lasting peace to our land, bless our leaders with wisdom, and grant our people progress, unity, and prosperity. May He comfort every family facing difficult moments and continue to guide us as a nation,” Barrister Ashamu added.

He also urged residents to remain vigilant, law-abiding, and supportive of security agencies through timely and useful information capable of curbing criminal activities.

Barrister Seun Temilolu Nurudeen Ashamu wished all Muslim faithful a peaceful and rewarding Eid-ul-Adha celebration.

Eid Mubarak.

Spread the love
