EID-EL-KABIR — A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Olamide Junaid, has congratulated Muslim faithful on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha celebrations, while appealing to the Federal Government, Oyo State Government, and security agencies to intensify efforts toward securing the safe return of the abducted teachers and pupils in the state.
Dr. Junaid, in her Eid-el-Kabir message, urged Muslims to sustain the virtues of sacrifice, obedience, and devotion to Allah beyond the festive season, noting that Eid-ul-Adha remains a period of gratitude, reflection, and compassion.
She described the Ileya celebration as a solemn reminder of faith and collective responsibility, stressing that while many families are rejoicing across the country, concerns remain over the safety of those still in captivity, particularly the abducted teachers and pupils in Orire Local Government Area of Oyo State.

According to her, the unfortunate incident has created deep anxiety among residents of Orire Local Government and surrounding communities, as well as across Oyo State, and requires urgent and coordinated action from relevant authorities to secure the victims’ release and restore public confidence.
“While I congratulate Muslim faithful on this year’s Eid Mubarak celebration, I also passionately appeal to the government and security agencies not to relent in their efforts toward ensuring the safe return of the abducted teachers and pupils. This remains a painful moment for their families and the entire Oyo State, and we pray for their immediate and safe release,” she said.
Dr. Junaid also called on citizens to remember the victims and their families in prayers, emphasizing that Eid should serve as a reminder of compassion, solidarity, and shared responsibility toward one another.
She concluded by wishing Muslims a peaceful and joyful Eid celebration and expressed hope that the season would bring comfort to affected families, renewed unity among the people, and strengthened commitment toward protecting lives and sustaining peace across Oyo State.
