The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Ibarapa Central and North Federal Constituency, Hon. Sarafa Olaoniye, has mourned the passing of the Chief Imam of Igangan Land, Sheikh Abdul-Azeez Fasasi Orimadegun.
Olaoniye in his condolence message described the death of the President, League of Imams and Alfas, Ibarapa Land, as a great loss to the Muslim Ummah and the entire Ibarapaland.

He said the news of the revered cleric’s transition was received with deep sadness, noting that his demise marks the end of an era of dedicated Islamic scholarship and selfless community service.
Olaoniye added that the late Chief Imam of Igangan was a humble, knowledgeable and highly respected leader who devoted his entire life to the propagation of Islam and the moral upliftment of his people.
“Sheikh Orimadegun was a man of peace whose sermons and counsel promoted unity, tolerance and peaceful coexistence among the people of Igangan and beyond.”
He noted further that the late Imam will be remembered for his wisdom, piety and fatherly role in guiding both the young and old on the path of righteousness.
The House of Representatives hopeful said the vacuum created by his death would be sorely missed, considering his immense contributions to religious and community development.
Olaoniye commiserated with the immediate family of the late Chief Imam, the Muslim community in Igangan, the League of Imams and Alfas in Ibarapa Land, and the people of Ibarapa Central and North Federal Constituency.
He said: “Inna Lillahi Wa Inna Ilayhi Raji’un. May Almighty Allah grant Baba eternal rest and comfort all those he left behind.”
