Olaoniye added that the late Chief Imam of Igangan was a humble, knowledgeable and highly respected leader who devoted his entire life to the propagation of Islam and the moral upliftment of his people.

“Sheikh Orimadegun was a man of peace whose sermons and counsel promoted unity, tolerance and peaceful coexistence among the people of Igangan and beyond.”

He noted further that the late Imam will be remembered for his wisdom, piety and fatherly role in guiding both the young and old on the path of righteousness.

The House of Representatives hopeful said the vacuum created by his death would be sorely missed, considering his immense contributions to religious and community development.

Olaoniye commiserated with the immediate family of the late Chief Imam, the Muslim community in Igangan, the League of Imams and Alfas in Ibarapa Land, and the people of Ibarapa Central and North Federal Constituency.

He said: “Inna Lillahi Wa Inna Ilayhi Raji’un. May Almighty Allah grant Baba eternal rest and comfort all those he left behind.”
