The All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain and Deputy Director, Grassroots Engagement and Mobilisation of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, Hon. Akinola Kazeem, has felicitated with Nigerians on the occasion of the country’s 66th Independence Anniversary, urging citizens to celebrate Nigeria’s journey while looking ahead to a future filled with possibilities.

In a statement made available to journalists on Thursday through his Media Assistant, Akintunde Yusuf, Akinola described October 1 as an important moment for Nigerians to reflect on the country’s journey since independence in 1960.

He noted that Nigeria, over the years, had experienced both difficult and remarkable moments, adding that the resilience of the country and its people remained a reason to appreciate how far the nation had come.

Akinola said the Independence Anniversary should not only be about commemorating the past but also about renewing the collective commitment to building a country where citizens can find opportunities to thrive, irrespective of their backgrounds.

According to him, “Independence Day is a time to celebrate Nigeria’s journey, appreciate the sacrifices and contributions of our founding fathers, and look ahead with renewed hope to a future filled with possibilities.

“Despite the challenges facing us, Nigeria remains a country blessed with enormous human and natural resources and a population of resilient people with great potential. Our responsibility is to continue to build on our strengths and create opportunities for the generations coming after us.”

The APC chieftain called for greater unity, responsible citizenship, peaceful coexistence and a stronger commitment to national development, stressing that building the Nigeria of the future requires contributions from citizens, communities, businesses and governments at all levels.

He also urged young Nigerians to remain hopeful and committed to developing their talents, describing their creativity, enterprise and resilience as important assets in shaping the country’s future.

“Let us celebrate how far we have come, learn from our experiences and remain committed to the Nigeria we desire. The journey continues, and the future holds possibilities for a stronger, more prosperous and united nation.

“Happy Independence Day, Nigeria. May God continue to bless our people and the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” he concluded.
