Hon. Akinola Kazeem, an All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain and Deputy Director of Grassroots Engagement and Mobilisation at the APC Presidential Campaign Council, has joined the global community in celebrating teachers on the occasion of Teachers’ Day.
In a statement issued by his Media Assistant, Akintunde Yusuf, Akinola described teachers as the foundation of every society, saying any society or nation that desires a viable future must recognise and appreciate their efforts and continue to motivate them to lay good foundations for the enviable future we all desire.

Akinola, who is also the founder of the AKA Foundation—a non-governmental organisation investing in the welfare and infrastructure development of Egbeda/Ona-Ara Federal Constituency and Oyo State as a whole—further called for better welfare and reward systems for teachers.
“Teacher s are generally not adequately appreciated in terms of remuneration. Governments at all levels and privately owned educational institutions must improve teachers’ remuneration,” he said.
“We must also strive to create a system that gives teachers due recognition as an important profession among others,” he added.
Akinola concluded by urging parents with children or wards in public and private educational institutions to continue appreciating their good work in their lives, and to constructively observe and correct where necessary while according them due respect.
