The All Progressives Congress, APC, flag bearer for Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Federal Constituency, Hon. Sarafa Olaito Olaoniye, has expressed gratitude to God over the safe release of school pupils and teachers abducted in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.
In a statement made available to journalists by his Media Assistant, Taoreed Adeniran, on Saturday, Hon. Olaoniye described the successful rescue operation as a victory for justice and a clear indication that security efforts in the country are yielding positive results.
Olaoniye commended President Bola Tinubu, GCFR, for his commitment to the protection of lives and properties across Nigeria. He said the President’s support for security agencies has continued to produce results in the ongoing fight against terrorism, kidnapping, banditry and other criminal activities.

Hon. Olaoniye also lauded the Nigerian Police Force, the Department of State Services, the Nigerian Army, the Oyo State Security Network Agency, codenamed Amotekun, and local hunters for their gallantry, professionalism and synergy which led to the rescue of the victims.
“I, on behalf of the good people of Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Federal Constituency, thank Mr. President for prioritising the safety of Nigerians. I also celebrate the courage of our security personnel who risked their lives to ensure that our brothers, sisters and children in Oriire returned home safely,” he stated.
The APC chieftain condemned the rising cases of kidnapping, saying such criminal acts undermine peace, agricultural activities and economic growth in rural communities. He therefore urged residents to remain vigilant and cooperate with security agencies by providing useful and timely information.
Hon. Olaoniye further called on the Oyo State Government and traditional rulers to strengthen community policing, intelligence gathering and youth engagement initiatives as part of efforts to address the root causes of insecurity in the state.
He prayed to God to grant lasting peace to Oyo State and comfort to families affected by insecurity.
