The House of Representatives candidate for Ibarapa Central and North Federal Constituency under the platform of the APC, Hon. Sarafa Olaoniye, has felicitated with Muslim residents of Ibarapa Central and North on the occasion of Eid-el-Kabir, urging them to embrace peace, sacrifice, and unity in their communities.

In his Sallah message made available to journalists through his media aide, Taoreed Adeniran, Olaoniye said the festival serves as a reminder of Prophet Ibrahim’s obedience and willingness to sacrifice for the sake of Allah. He noted that the lessons of the celebration should inspire Nigerians to place the interest of others above personal gain and work together for the common good.

The APC flagbearer said the economic hardship facing many households calls for patience, sacrifice, and mutual support. He stressed that no meaningful progress can be achieved in Ibarapa Central and North if residents allow religion or politics to divide them.

According to him, development can only thrive where there is trust, peace, and cooperation among the people.

Olaoniye commended the resilience of farmers, traders, artisans, and youths across the constituency who continue to persevere despite rising costs and security challenges. He assured them that his vision for the federal constituency is focused on job creation, improved access to healthcare, better road infrastructure, and stronger support for agriculture.

He said effective representation must translate into tangible benefits for people at the grassroots.

He also used the occasion to appeal to political actors and community leaders to avoid utterances and actions capable of triggering tension. He noted that the countdown to the next elections should not become an excuse for violence or intimidation, urging all candidates to sell their programmes and allow voters to make their choices freely.

“As we mark this Sallah, I urge us all to remember those who have less. Share what you have, check on your neighbours, and let the spirit of sacrifice guide our actions. Ibarapa is stronger when we stand together,” Olaoniye said.

The candidate prayed for Allah to accept the sacrifices of the faithful and grant Nigeria lasting peace and stability. He also prayed for wisdom and strength for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as he continues to lead the country through its current challenges. According to him, good governance requires the prayers and cooperation of all citizens, regardless of political affiliation.

Olaoniye further encouraged those travelling for the celebration to exercise caution on the roads and observe safety guidelines.

He warned against reckless driving and overloading, noting that no celebration is worth losing a life over. He added that security agencies should be supported with timely and useful information to help keep communities safe during and after the festivities.

He reiterated his commitment to running an issue-based campaign that prioritises the needs of Ibarapa people. He said his door remains open to ideas and contributions that can improve education, youth empowerment, and local commerce in the constituency.

Eid-el-Kabir, also known as the Festival of Sacrifice, commemorates Prophet Ibrahim’s readiness to sacrifice his son in obedience to Allah’s command. Muslims mark the day with special prayers, visits to family and friends, and the slaughtering of rams, goats, or cows. The meat is shared among family members, neighbours, and the less privileged as an act of charity and community bonding.

Olaoniye concluded by wishing all Muslim faithful in Ibarapa Central and North a peaceful, joyous, and blessed Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
