Sharafadeen Alli candidate of the All Progressives Congress for the 2027 governorship election in Oyo State has called for collective prayers for the progress and development of the state and Nigeria as a whole.
Alli made the call during the Jumu’ah prayer held at the Bodija Estates and Environs Muslim Community mosque in Ibadan, where he joined worshippers in observance of the weekly congregational prayer.
Addressing the congregation shortly after the prayer, Alli thanked Almighty Allah for the success recorded during the gubernatorial primary election of his party in the state. He noted that while the mosque remains a sacred place of worship, he considered it important to appreciate the people of Oyo State for sustaining religious harmony and peaceful coexistence over the years.
He added that he would continue to identify with and appreciate people of all faiths across the state, noting that such engagements would also continue in other places of worship.
According to Sharafadeen Alli, “I am a bonafide and registered member of this mosque. I will continue to be part of it and remain supportive of every activity aimed at the progress of Bodija Estates and its environs.”
Reacting to Alli’s remarks, Chairman of the BEEMC, Aare Isiaka Olagunju SAN, appreciated the APC governorship candidate for joining the congregation in prayer and returning thanks to Allah following his victory at the party’s primary election.
Olagunju noted that Alli has remained a committed and registered member of the Muslim community, adding that his contributions to the development of the area have been commendable.
“While I reiterate that this is not a campaign ground, every politician is welcome to visit, and the Muslim community will continue to receive them with open arms while urging them to remain responsible and responsive to the welfare and security of the wider society, especially amid the heightened insecurity being experienced in Oyo State and across Nigeria,” he said.
He also offered prayers for the safe return of the abducted pupils and teachers of a public school in Orire Local Government, while calling on relevant stakeholders to strengthen security measures and address the growing threat of kidnapping in the state and across the country.
