Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, Hon. Akinjide Kazeem Akinola , has congratulated teachers, students, parents and school administrators on the commencement of the new academic session, urging the government to give greater attention to the safety and security of schools across the country.

Akinola, who is also the Deputy Director, Grassroots Engagement and Mobilisation of the APC Presidential Campaign Council for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 re-election campaign, said the safe return of children to school must remain a shared responsibility between government, parents, communities and other stakeholders.

Akinola call for stronger measures that would guarantee a secure learning environment, particularly in communities where insecurity remains a concern.

According to Akinola, education remains central to the development of any society, stressing that children should be able to pursue their education without fear.

He urged the government at all levels to explore and strengthen initiatives such as the Safe School Initiative, while encouraging teachers to remain committed to shaping the future of the younger generation and students to approach the new session with discipline, dedication and renewed determination.

The call, he said, was consistent with his own interventions across the Egbeda/Ona-Ara Federal Constituency, where he has continued to support education, community development and social welfare through the Akinjide Kazeem Akinola Foundation. His interventions have included educational support, assistance to families to facilitate children’s return to school, youth and women empowerment programmes, and other meaningful projects.

Akinola said his commitment to grassroots development goes beyond political contests, noting that his current responsibility in the Tinubu re-election campaign further provides an opportunity to engage communities and mobilise support around programmes that promote security, education, development and improved living conditions.

He wished teachers and students a successful academic session, while calling on parents, community leaders and relevant government agencies to work together to make schools safer and more conducive for learning.
