Residents of Olode Adetohun Village in Ona-Ara Local Government Area of Oyo State have expressed joy following the installation of 50 solar-powered streetlights by the AKA Foundation, describing the initiative as a major boost to security, social activities, and economic life within and around the village.

A visit to the village by our correspondent alongside volunteers of the AKA Foundation on Saturday night revealed a remarkable transformation, with major roads and other spaces brightly illuminated, creating a safer and more welcoming environment for residents.

The solar-powered streetlights, donated by the founder of the AKA Foundation, Hon. Akinjide Kazeem Akinola, are part of the foundation’s ongoing effort to improve access to sustainable lighting across communities in Ona-Ara Local Government Area.

Speaking with our correspondent, residents, community stakeholders, and indigenes of Olode Adetohun commended Hon. Akinola and the AKA Foundation for what they described as a timely intervention.

“We are sincerely grateful to Hon. Akinjide Kazeem Akinola and the AKA Foundation for remembering his ancestral village, Olode Adetohun. These streetlights have changed the outlook of our village at night and have given our people a greater sense of security,” one of the community leaders said.
