A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, Hon. Akinjide Kazeem Akinola, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the safe rescue of the teachers and pupils who were abducted over 50 days ago at Esi-Ele in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.
Akinola, who described the development as welcoming, praised President Tinubu’s commitment to strengthening the nation’s security architecture and lauded the gallant security officers who worked tirelessly from the day of the abduction until the successful rescue operation.
In a statement issued through his Media Assistant, Akintunde Yusuf, Akinola expressed gratitude to God for preserving the lives of the victims and ensuring their safe reunion with their families, and also pray for the departed soul.

He said, “I sincerely thank President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the successful rescue of the teachers and pupils of Oriire Local Government who were abducted over 50 days ago. This achievement reflects the administration’s commitment to protecting the lives of Nigerians.
“I also commend the gallant officers and security operatives who participated in the rescue mission. Their courage, professionalism and dedication deserve national recognition. We equally thank God for granting the victims safe release and reunion with their families.”
Akinola also appreciated the Oyo State Government and all relevant stakeholders for their efforts throughout the period of the victims’ captivity.
He further called for stronger collaboration between the Federal and State Governments in addressing security challenges, stressing that insecurity should be confronted collectively, irrespective of political affiliations.

According to him, granting genuine financial and administrative autonomy to local governments would further strengthen grassroots security, enhance community intelligence gathering and improve rapid response to emerging security threats across the country.
