Akinola Kazeem Congratulates Engr. Tegbe on Swearing-in as Minister of Power, Calls for Renewed Hope Reforms

Hon. Akinola Kazeem, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State and a prominent stakeholder in Egbeda/Ona-Ara Federal Constituency, has joined other eminent Nigerians in congratulating Engr. Joseph Olasunkanmi Tegbe on his swearing-in as the Minister of Power of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Akinola Kazeem also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing Tegbe to lead the nation’s power sector, describing him as a capable technocrat well-positioned to drive the reforms needed to transform the industry.

In a congratulatory message made available through his Media Assistant, Akintunde Yusuf, Akinola Kazeem urged the new minister to prioritize addressing the recurring national grid collapses that continue to hinder stable electricity supply across the country, with adverse effects on economic growth, productivity, and the quality of life of Nigerians.

“While I once again congratulate Engr. Joseph Olasunkanmi Tegbe on his assumption of office as Minister of Power, I wish to express my confidence in his capacity to deliver on this important national assignment. We all understand the longstanding challenges confronting the sector, and it will require practical reforms, strategic collaboration, strong partnerships, and commitment to reposition the industry for optimal performance,” Akinola stated.

 

He further noted that the power sector remains critical to Nigeria’s economic development and the successful implementation of President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

“The power sector is central to our economy and the overall wellbeing of Nigerians. Although the challenges facing the sector cannot be resolved overnight, I urge the new minister to prioritize sustainable reforms that will improve power generation, transmission, and distribution for the benefit of all Nigerians,” he added.

 

Akinola expressed confidence that Tegbe would justify the confidence reposed in him and make both Oyo State and the nation proud through impactful leadership and measurable achievements.

 

“As a proud son of Oyo State, I am convinced that Engr. Tegbe will make our state and the entire nation proud through a successful and transformative tenure. Stakeholders across the country will continue to support and collaborate with him in the collective effort to reposition the power sector,” he said.
