Barr. Temilolu Nurudeen Ashamu (TNA) has encouraged students across Oyo Federal Constituency to embrace discipline, character, and continuous learning as essential tools for success beyond the classroom.
Speaking as Guest of Honour and Keynote Speaker at the Oyo Global Forum (OGF) Students Career Development and Debate Summit held in Oyo Town, Ashamu addressed students from various secondary schools on the theme: “Beyond the Classroom: Preparing for Life Ahead.”
In his remarks, Ashamu stressed that while academic excellence remains important, exposure, personal development, and adaptability are equally critical in shaping future opportunities.
“Your background may shape your beginning, but it does not have to define your future,” he told the students.

Ashamu also encouraged students — particularly those in the Arts and Social Sciences — not to underestimate the value and opportunities within their chosen fields, noting that society needs lawyers, communicators, teachers, economists, public servants, and creative thinkers alongside scientists and engineers.
He further urged the students to cultivate discipline and strong character, emphasising that talent may open doors, but character determines long-term success.
The event, organised by the Oyo Global Forum (OGF), brought together students, educators, and community stakeholders as part of efforts to broaden career exposure and leadership development among young people in Oyo Federal Constituency.
