The Royal Quadrant Team of Ibadanland, a respected body of traditional leaders cutting across local governments in Ibadanland, has passed a vote of confidence on Senator Abdulfatai Buhari, Ph.D., citing his outstanding track record and long-standing contributions to Oyo State’s political development.
The group, made up of Baales, Bale, and Mogajis who stand for truth, justice, and fairness, described Senator Buhari as one of the most experienced and credible political figures in the state. They noted that his political journey spans several key positions, including former Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Member of the House of Representatives, and a three-term Senator, where he is widely regarded as one of the best-performing senators from Oyo State.
Speaking through its Public Relations Officer, Mogaji Ejilola Sefiu, the Royal Quadrant Team stated that there is nothing wrong if Senator Buhari leads Oyo State in 2027, especially at a time when many regions in the state are calling for justice, fairness, and equity in governance. According to the group, governance in Oyo State should not be restricted to Ibadanland alone, as other regions are equally integral to the state’s progress.

The team acknowledged the growing agitation for power rotation from Oyo North Senatorial District, which comprises Oke-Ogun and Ogbomoso zones. They emphasized that such demands should be viewed through the lens of inclusion and unity rather than division.
They further pointed to Senator Buhari’s sustainable development projects and consistent performance as clear evidence of his capacity to handle greater responsibility. The Royal Quadrant Team maintained that a leader with Buhari’s experience, calm temperament, and developmental orientation is fit for the task of governing Oyo State.
According to the group, credible leadership should always be encouraged, regardless of region, stressing that all parts of Oyo State deserve a sense of belonging. They concluded that Senator Abdulfatai Buhari’s aspiration aligns with the principles of fairness, equity, and inclusive governance that Oyo State needs at this critical time.
