As today marks exactly one year since the passing of Hon. Akinremi Olaide Musiliu, popularly known as “Jagaban” of Ibadan North, families , friends, political associates and party members remembered the late lawmaker and reflect on his memory that continued to resonate deeply across the constituency he served with distinction.
The late federal lawmaker, was widely celebrated for his humility, accessibility, and unrelenting commitment to grassroots development during his lifetime, and is remembered fondly by constituents, political associates, and well-wishers.

In her heartfelt tribute to the late lawmaker, one of the leading aspirants for the House of Representatives seat in Ibadan North, Dr. Olamide Balikis Junaid, described Hon. Akinremi as a “rare kind of leader” whose selfless service touched countless lives.

“Hon. Jagaban was more than a politician; he was a symbol of hope, compassion, and true public service. His legacy lives not only in words but in the hearts of the people he served,” she said.

“He didn’t just represent his people while alive; he connected. He reached every nook and cranny of Ibadan North, showing genuine empathy and action-driven service from the time he emerged as APC’s candidate until he answered the call of his creator.”
“His story continues to inspire, proving that one could indeed do tomorrow’s work today.”
Dr. Junaid prayed for the continued repose of his soul and urged those aspiring to serve the people to emulate his style of leadership.
“As we remember him today, we ask Almighty Allah to grant him eternal rest in Aljanat Firdaus. And for those of us coming behind, may we carry the torch of service with the same heart and courage that defined his time here,” she added.
