On Saturday, the Oke-ogun Youth Movement, also known as AWALOKAN 2027, convened stakeholders from across the state, particularly Okeogun, at the OYSADA Sports Complex. The event brought together various interest groups from the state, all advocating for power rotation to the geopolitical zones of the state.
Com. Olabode Adeniyi, Coordinator of the movement, expressed gratitude to all attendees and emphasized the need for Okeogun to take its rightful place in the state. Adeniyi stated, “We appeal to other geopolitical zones to respect the principle of fairness in the 2027 election. We recognize that this is not anyone’s birthright and must be earned.”

“Okeogun comprises 10 local governments, nearly one-third of the state’s total. It’s evident that we’ve been marginalized in the senatorial district. Our 10 local governments are merged to serve the three from Ogbomosho. We’re now calling for equity and fairness, and we urge all political parties to support our cause.”
Adeniyi clarified that the gathering was not intended to intimidate other geopolitical zones but rather to demonstrate solidarity and rally support for the Oke-Ogun agenda in 2027.

“This is not just an Okeogun agenda, but an Oyo State agenda, centered on fairness and equity.”
Adeniyi also appealed to Okeogun sons and daughters to unite and find common ground to make this vision a reality.
