The Media Office of Hon. Sarafa Olaoniye Bibiire, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Ibarapa Central/Ibarapa North Federal Constituency, has refuted reports that he is using security agencies to intimidate party members in Ibarapa Central Local Government Area of Oyo State.
An online platform, Asako Reporters, had on Monday alleged that some factional ward chairmen accused Olaoniye of instigating their invitation by the police over the lingering congress crisis in the area.

Reacting to the report, the Media Assistant to Hon. Olaoniye, Mr. Taoreed Adeniran, described it as false, mischievous and aimed at tarnishing the image of his principal.
“Hon. Sarafa Olaoniye never wrote any petition against any member of the APC at the Igboora Divisional Police Headquarters or at the Department of State Services. He has no reason to do so. He believes that internal party issues should be resolved through internal party mechanisms and not through security agencies,” Adeniran said.
He challenged those invited by the police to disclose the actual reason for their invitation instead of linking it to Hon. Olaoniye.
Adeniran further dismissed claims of factional ward executives in the local government, stressing that the APC in Ibarapa Central has only one legitimate executive, which emerged from the congresses held in February 2026.
“There is no faction in the APC in Ibarapa Central. The party has only one legitimate ward and local government executive,” he said.
He also faulted the claim by the online platform that all efforts to reach Hon. Olaoniye proved abortive.
According to him, no call or message was received from the platform before the publication.
“Asako Reporters should not rush to publish a one-sided story without speaking with all parties involved,” he added.
He urged party faithful and members of the public to disregard the report and remain focused on the unity and victory of the APC in the forthcoming general elections.
