The All Progressives Congress House of Representatives aspirant for Ayedire, Iwo and Ola Oluwa Federal Constituency (AYIWOLA), Engr. Akeem Alamu Adelani (IJALA), has urged Governor Ademola Adeleke to desist from making what he described as baseless allegations of election rigging ahead of the 15 August 2026 Osun State governorship election.
IJALA stated that the repeated claims by Governor Adeleke that the All Progressives Congress intends to manipulate the electoral process are unfounded and capable of creating unnecessary anxiety among the people. He said such allegations are a clear indication of growing concern over the governor’s electoral prospects rather than evidence of any wrongdoing by the APC.
According to him, the APC governorship candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), has continued to receive overwhelming acceptance across Osun State through extensive consultations, grassroots mobilisation, and meaningful engagement with critical stakeholders. He stressed that a candidate enjoying such widespread support has no reason to seek victory through any unlawful means.
He further noted that elections are won through dedication, credible campaigns, and the confidence of the electorate.
Osun Deserves Experienced Leadership: Why AMBO Stands Above the Rest
He added that AMBO has consistently demonstrated his commitment to the people by presenting practical solutions to the challenges confronting the state and by maintaining close contact with communities across Osun.
IJALA advised Governor Adeleke to concentrate on presenting his administration’s record to the people instead of making allegations that could undermine public confidence in the democratic process. He expressed confidence that the people of Osun State are politically enlightened and will freely choose their next governor through a peaceful, transparent, and credible election.
He also called on members and supporters of the All Progressives Congress to remain calm, peaceful, and law abiding before, during, and after the election. He reaffirmed his confidence that the people of Osun State would overwhelmingly support Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO) at the polls and usher in a government built on competence, integrity, and inclusive development.
Signed.
