As Osun State moves steadily toward the August 15 governorship election, the political landscape continues to witness an unprecedented level of grassroots engagement. Across the state’s three senatorial districts, campaigns have intensified, communities are becoming increasingly politically conscious, and voters are paying closer attention to the qualities and vision of those seeking to govern the state.
Among the major developments shaping the contest is the growing momentum behind the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO). His Prosperity Agenda has continued to resonate with many supporters who believe Osun requires experienced leadership capable of driving economic growth, creating jobs, improving infrastructure, strengthening healthcare and education, empowering young people, supporting farmers, and promoting transparent governance.
Speaking on the evolving political climate, Engr. Alamu Akeem Adelani, popularly known as IJALA, identified one of the principal architects behind the campaign’s growing strength in Osun West Senatorial District as Omooba Dotun Babayemi, the Director-General of the AMBO Campaign in the district.
According to IJALA, Omooba Babayemi has demonstrated exceptional leadership by taking the campaign beyond political meetings and into the streets, markets, communities, wards, and polling units through the highly visible Walk to Win initiative.

He noted that the campaign has become more than a political exercise, describing it as a grassroots movement that has successfully connected the APC’s message with ordinary citizens across Osun West.
“The strength of any political campaign lies in its ability to connect directly with the people,” IJALA said. “Omooba Dotun Babayemi has shown remarkable commitment by leading mobilisation efforts from the grassroots upward, ensuring that the message of hope, prosperity, and responsible leadership reaches every community.”
IJALA observed that the Walk to Win campaign has attracted thousands of party members, youths, women, artisans, traders, professionals, and first-time voters, further energising the APC’s structures throughout Osun West Senatorial District.
In his view, the growing participation reflects increasing enthusiasm among supporters of AMBO and confidence in the party’s vision for the state.
He further argued that the momentum generated in Osun West is now being replicated across Osun Central and Osun East Senatorial Districts, where party leaders and volunteers continue to intensify voter engagement and strengthen grassroots structures ahead of the election.
According to IJALA, successful elections are not won solely through media campaigns or political speeches but through consistent grassroots mobilisation, unity of purpose, and meaningful engagement with the electorate. He maintained that the dedication shown by Omooba Dotun Babayemi and other APC leaders has significantly strengthened the party’s chances in the forthcoming governorship election.
He therefore urged APC members and supporters to remain united, peaceful, disciplined, and committed to issue-based campaigns while continuing to engage voters with respect and civility.
“As the election draws closer, every conversation matters, every doorstep counts, and every vote will help determine the future of Osun State,” IJALA stated.
He expressed confidence that the sacrifices, commitment, and strategic mobilisation led by Omooba Dotun Babayemi have laid a formidable foundation for AMBO’s campaign and positioned the APC for a strong showing at the polls.
“The journey to victory is built on unity, hard work, and unwavering commitment to the people. The momentum is growing, the message is spreading, and the people are responding. Now is the time for every progressive to stand together, mobilise others, protect every vote, and ensure that the Prosperity Agenda becomes a reality for Osun State.
On August 15, let every ward speak with one voice. Let every polling unit deliver for progress. Let every vote count for experienced leadership, sustainable development, and a more prosperous Osun.
Vote APC. Vote AMBO.
Together, let’s move Osun forward.”
