Many people have wondered about the secret behind the ever-cheerful disposition and calm demeanour of Rt. Hon. Dhikirullahi Adedeji Odidiomo. The answer is not far-fetched. It lies in his absolute reliance on Almighty Allah.
When confronted about the antics of some desperate political actors who seek to rewrite the narrative by force—much like the suitor who fits into the description of the famous columnist and thinker, Sam Omatseye, as one “whose perfume has lost its fragrance” and who is now desperately seeking a second chance to make a first impression—his response was profound and reassuring.
He simply said: “In Almighty Allah, I repose my trust and confidence. He gives power to whom He wills. I am not in competition with anybody. If they like, they can empty the treasury to impress gullible voters. God is always in control.”
This short but profound response explains in graphic detail why Hon. Odidiomo continues to rely on God’s command and seeks His face at all times.
Quoting Surah At-Talaq (Qur’an 65:3), he said: “And whoever puts their trust in Allah, then He alone is sufficient for them.”
2027: Why All Eyes Are on Rt. Hon. Stanley Odidiomo for Oyo South Senatorial Seat By Isiaka Kehinde
As a man who believes in exploring hidden causes through prayer and spiritual devotion, the riveting news is that Hon. Dhikirullahi Odidiomo is presently in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia performing the lesser pilgrimage, Umrah, to seek God’s intervention and blessings ahead of the forthcoming elections. He is praying for victory for all APM candidates, from the presidential candidate, Governor Seyi Makinde, and other candidates down the line, which include himself.
When asked why he chose Makkah as his prayer ground instead of his private closet, he referred to a Hadith of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) on the spiritual significance of Masjid al-Haram, where prayers offered carry immense rewards..
The commonly cited hadith states that a prayer in Masjid al-Haram is worth 100,000 prayers elsewhere.
Thus, Rt. Hon Stanley Adedeji Odidiomo prays specifically for divine direction for the Governor of Oyo State , Engineer Oluseyi Makinde, his cabinet members and those assisting him in the course of bringing out good governance
He equally devotes a quality time to spare a thought for the teachers, students and principal of Oriire who are in captivity and is daily doing Tawaf – circumnavigation of the holy Kaabah for them with fervent prayers for their safe release.
Even while fully engrossed in worship, Hon. Odidiomo still found time to send greetings to members of the OSG (Odidiomo Support Group), whose membership spans the nine local government areas that make up the Oyo South Senatorial District and the entire voters.
It bears repeating that the group recently converged via WhatsApp and Zoom to discuss issues relating to his senatorial aspiration.
As he joined the conversation briefly. His short but touching message read:
“I bring you warm greetings from Makkah.”
This short but inspirational message further portrays Hon. Stanley Odidiomo is a leader who leads from behind, inspiring, and encouraging his followers without seeking unnecessary attention.
Members of the support group were delighted to hear from him and offered prayers in unison for his safe return and the acceptance of his supplications in the Holy Land.
As Hon. Stanley Odidiomo continues his spiritual exercise in Makkah. One can only wish him a safe journey home and divine answers to all his prayers.
Indeed, it is good to repose one’s trust in God alone. For those who place their confidence in the Almighty, victory ultimately belongs to such.
May success attend the aspirations of the incoming senator whose works have been speaking louder than words.
