Akinola Kazeem, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and founder of AKA Foundation, has congratulated Muslim faithful on the occasion of Eid, calling on Nigerians to work with government at all levels to tackle insecurity and strengthen peace across the country.
In a statement made available to journalists, Akinola described Eid-el-Kabir as a festival of gratitude, sacrifice and communion, urging Muslims to uphold the values of compassion, and obedience that the celebration represents.
He noted that beyond the festivities, the significance of Eid should inspire renewed commitment to national unity and collective responsibility, especially as the country continues to confront security challenges in different parts.
According to him, insecurity remains a major concern that requires a shared sense of responsibility between government and citizens, stressing that sustainable peace can only be achieved through cooperation, vigilance and mutual trust.
“As we celebrate Eid, I congratulate Muslim faithful and urge all Nigerians to continue supporting efforts aimed at restoring peace and strengthening security in our communities. The government alone cannot do it. Citizens also have a vital role to play through cooperation, timely information sharing and promoting peaceful coexistence,” he said.
Akinola Kazeem further urged community leaders, youth groups and religious institutions to continue promoting tolerance and discouraging violence, noting that unity among citizens remains one of the strongest tools in addressing insecurity.
He also encouraged Nigerians to use the Eid celebration to pray for peace, stability and progress in the country, while remembering security personnel and others making sacrifices daily for the safety of the nation.
The APC chieftain concluded by wishing Muslims a peaceful and joyful Eid celebration, expressing hope that the occasion would bring renewed hope, strengthen unity and inspire collective action toward a safer and more prosperous Nigeria.
