Igueben Community Agog As Chief Tony Aletor and Wife, Olayinka, Donate Vocational Centre

Igueben, Edo State — The Igueben community was recently agog as Chief Dr. Anthony Aletor, CON, mni, JP, and his wife, Chief (Mrs.) Olayinka Aletor, mni, JP, donated a vocational centre for community use.

 

Named Okaigun Vocational Centre, the facility was built in memory of Madam Ukpenbo Aduke Odigie, grandmother of Chief Aletor, who passed on March 22, 1976. The centre features three halls named after her children: Chief Andrew Stephen Odigie, Madam Elizabeth Aina Adenuga, and Madam Ediza Esangbedo.

The project was commissioned by His Royal Majesty, Ehizogie Eluojierior I (JP), the Onogie of Igueben and Okaigun of Esanland, in the presence of distinguished members of the community.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chief Aletor described the project as a tribute to his grandmother’s legacy and a contribution to community development. He noted that the centre is equipped with vocational training facilities, including sewing machines, furniture, generating set and modern borehole facilities to support skill acquisition and enterprise.

He also expressed appreciation to the Onogie of Igueben for his support in bringing the project to fruition.

Chief Anthony Aletor and Chief Olayinka Aletor hold the traditional titles of Ehinoman and Efua of Igueben, respectively. Both are widely recognised for their contributions to business and leadership, with extensive experience across insurance, investment, governance, and strategic management.
