Ecclesiastes 3:1 states, “To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven” (KJV).

This was truly a reflection of the lives of High Chief Adelakin Peter Adegbite, a Senior Deputy Registrar at the Emmanuel Alayande University of Education, Oyo who was installed as the Aro of Fiditi-Land by the Onifiditi of Fiditi, His Royal Highness, Oba Sakiru Oyewole Oyelere, Ajani Eedu II.

The historic and memorable installation as the Aro of Fiditi Land is a clear testament to Chief Adegbite’s exemplary character, unwavering dedication to service, and remarkable contributions to the development of Fiditi community and beyond. His emergence into this revered traditional office is a source of immense pride, not only to his immediate family but also to the entire Fiditi community. Indeed, if his father, Alagba Ipeayeda Adegbite was to be alive, his joy would have known no bounds.

For Adegbite, a Fiditi-born son of a respected Fiditi trader and community leader, and a technocrat by training, the installation signifies not merely an honor but a profound homecoming and transition from the transient influence of administrative family to the enduring authority of traditional institution.

The epochal occasion was graced by the Management of the Emmanuel Alayande University of Education, Oyo under the purposeful and visionary leadership of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Olanrewaju Ademola Olaniyan who was supported by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ibrahim Olatunde Salawu and the Registrar & Secretary to Council, Rev. (Mrs.) Olubunmi Siju’ Asunmo. The presence of the Directorate of Affiliated Institution and Programmes, ably coordinated by Dr. Olusola Adediran where the newly installed Chief is the Head of Administration further reflects the significance and honour attached to the event.

The occasion was also graced by eminent scholars, members of the Registry division, friends and family members whose attendance further added glamour to the ceremony.

High Chief Adelakin Peter Adegbite graduated from the University of Ibadan where he had his B.Ed and M. Ed degrees in Guidance and Counseling. He had his secondary education at Fiditi Grammar School, Fiditi. He joined the service of the defunct St. Andrew’s College of Education, Oyo (now Emmanuel Alayande University of Education, Oyo) in 1998 and rose through the ranks to the position of a Senior Deputy Registrar.

As he assumes the responsibilities of this noble traditional office, it is our prayer that your reign will be guided by divine wisdom, enduring peace, and outstanding accomplishments that will further promote unity, progress, and prosperity in Fiditi Land.

Congratulations once again, High Chief Aro of Fiditi Land.
