As a concerned youth and community chief in Lagelu Constituency, I consider it both a responsibility and a duty to speak honestly about leadership, continuity, and representation. When leadership works, when representation is visible, and when impact is measurable, continuity becomes not just a political option, but a developmental necessity. That is why I strongly believe that Honourable Olajide Akintunde Emmanuel (AKT), Member representing Lagelu State Constituency in the Oyo State House of Assembly, deserves a third term in office.
Leadership is not measured by noise, but by impact. Over the years, AKT has demonstrated accessible, responsive, and people-centered representation. From empowerment initiatives that have supported artisans, traders, and youths, to distribution of working tools such as sewing machines, grinding machines, refrigerators, hair dryers, and financial support packages, his interventions have not been symbolic gestures, they have been practical solutions.
Programs such as the AKT Strategy Support Program (AKT-SSP) have directly addressed unemployment, reduced idleness, and strengthened small-scale businesses within our communities.
Beyond empowerment, his legislative contributions and committee responsibilities have ensured that Lagelu’s voice is not silent at the state level. Representation is not merely about occupying a seat; it is about influence, negotiation, and defending the interests of one’s people. AKT has consistently facilitated developmental projects, supported infrastructure improvements, and maintained a strong presence among traditional rulers, youth groups, religious bodies, and market associations.
As a chief and youth stakeholder, I have observed that effective leadership requires continuity.
Development is a process, not an event. Projects initiated need supervision. Policies advocated require follow-up. Community relationships demand trust built over time. A third term would not be about personal ambition; it would be about consolidating progress, completing ongoing initiatives, and expanding opportunities for the next generation.
In politics, consistency builds credibility. AKT has remained accessible to constituents, responsive to community concerns, and supportive in times of need. In moments of social, economic, and political challenges, he has stood with the people not only during election seasons but beyond them. That consistency has earned him grassroots respect.

Furthermore, the youth constituency in Lagelu needs stable mentorship and structured empowerment. With rising unemployment and economic pressures across Nigeria, continuity in representation provides stability and strategic planning rather than disruption. A third term would allow for long-term programs in vocational training, entrepreneurship support, education advocacy, and rural development to mature and produce sustainable results.
As stakeholders in the future of our constituency, we must prioritize performance over sentiment and results over rhetoric. Where leadership has shown measurable commitment, it deserves reinforcement, not interruption.
Therefore, as a concerned youth and community chief, I advocate for the continued representation of Honourable Olajide Akintunde Emmanuel (AKT). His track record, accessibility, empowerment initiatives, and legislative engagement provide sufficient grounds to support his third-term bid not as a favour to him, but as an investment in the sustained growth and stability of Lagelu State Constituency.
