I am filled with a great joy to pen down a few words in honour of my dearest Prince, Prince (Hon) Olabiyi Julius Oyekola, the current Chief Financial Officer of FGN POWER COMPANY LIMITED, and to celebrate a notable figure in the realm of Oyo State politics on this auspicious occasion of the celebration of his 60th birthday on earth today, the 22nd January, 2026.
I am today celebrating a life dedicated to the service of humanity and a life worthy of emulation which is full with purpose, passion and accomplishment. Of what can one refers to a humble beginning of a man that could not boast of two dresses at a point in life but to the glory of God today he can confidently look back and appreciate the kindness of God in his life!
To start-with, it was just like yesterday, sixty years ago, that heaven in its graciousness decided to bestow humanity with a gift, a rare gem indeed and a priceless gift at that! January 22nd of all years will always be memorable, it will always be etched in history, that a resilience, discipline, and one with a heart of service was born on this day.
Precisely, January 22, 1966, Okaka Town, in Itesiwaju Local Government Area of Oyo State was blessed with a precious gift in the form of an illustrious son, Hon (Prince) ‘Kola Olabiyi, who has become a father to many, a husband to one and a role model and mentor to all of us.
Of course, without his education cum life’s accomplishment through hardwork and dedication, we will not be here celebrating a masterpiece in human being today. His journey has been one driven by growth and passion for knowledge.

This passion for knowledge and excellence has shaped his knowledge and made it possible to have the following jaw dropping and useful knowledge in the Nigeria Army School of Finance and Administration, Apapa (OND, Upper Credit), Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ACA, ’94) while he became a Fellow, FCA in 2006, Nigeria Institute of Management (AMNIM).
Also, Rivers State University of Science and Technology, Port Harcourt (MBA, Finance), Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (ACTI), Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (ACIB), Lead City University, Ibadan, B.SC Economics (First Class), University of Ibadan (MSC, Energy Studies) Lead City University, Ibadan (M.Sc Accounting).
What a man! What a lover of wisdom and education! Indeed, Prince (Hon) Julius Oyekola is a student of life! He has learnt from The West (University of Ibadan, lead city), The East (River state University ) and even the Nigeria‘s centre of Commerce (Lagos, Apapa).
Join me in celebrating a student of life and a lover of wisdom! One could not but conclude that Prince’s passion for excellence has paid off. Indeed he has succeeded.
He learnt about energy, he has the energy, no doubt. He has learnt about finances, he has the finances. He has learnt about management, he is an exceptional manager with first class brain.
Of what benefit is a knowledge that cannot be put to practise? To the glory of God ,Prince Olabiyi has served in many fields and has left an indelible mark in those fields.

He is a successful business man who has successfully and profitably engaged in marketing, distribution and sale of goods (LPG for eight years).
He is a respectable public servant ( law maker) and a veteran in making good policies and exercising oversight to ensure that dividends of the democracy reach all and sundry.
Prince Olabiyi is also a banker, an auditor and inspector with integrity who manages finances on behalf of others (Companies) for ten years.
It is not surprising that reputable companies and others can trust Prince with their assets, as he is not only competent but trustworthy.
What a blessing to humanity! Prince is a veteran and his diverse knowledge made him a stand out accountant who prepared and reviewed financial statements for several years.
Beyond Prince Olabiyi’s qualifications, it is very pertinent to celebrate a life who do for a public, what is of the public and who will always be for the public.
His indelible marks and impactful service to humanity through his meritorious and gracious service while serving as a Member of the House of Respresentative between 2011 – 2015 will forever be remembered as one who has contributed to the national growth and also facilitations of various projects to his constitutuency, Iseyin/Kajola/Itewiaju Federal Constitutuency, and also his position to provide gainful employments in some federal and even state parastatals and agencies to his constituents.
The services the man of the moment has rendered, the lives he has touched and the destiny he has changed for the better will forever be eternally grateful to him.
Prince, Sir, we are grateful and we celebrate your life of excellence and passion to changing lives for the better.
Surely, your life has been one of all round excellence, passion and dedication to serving humanity.
May this new year of your life be ridiculously kind to you — full of unexpected good news, people who lift you up (you are lifted up already), peaceful sleep, more money that shows up on time, and moments that make you happy, Sir. Happy Birthday!
May your candles be few, your cake be huge, your worries be tiny, your joy be loud, Happy Birthday, The Legend, Sir!

As the saying still remains that behind a successful man, there will always be a woman of virtue, may I on this note use this wonderful moment to extend my felicitations and birthday greetings to a noble woman of inestimable jewel of Prince Kola Olabiyi, a Fellow/Chartered Accountant of Note, Abisola Olabiyi, (PhD) who incidental clocked 50 years on 21st January, 2026 just yesterday!
On a lighter mode, going by my mathematical calculation that I learnt as an art student, I can state that Prince Olabiyi is just a day older of Dr (Mrs) Abisola Olabiyi.
As an icon with an humble beginning, one who has paid his dues to life , and in compliance with the saying ‘all works and no play makes Jack a dull boy’. Prince is a sociable man!
He enjoys touring around the world and has visited places like The United Kingdom, The USA among others to enrich his understanding about life.
Finally, as a dedicated lawmaker, a finance mogul, a tax expert, a proud father of three promising sons and a celebrated husband to a lettered wife, may all your prayers be answered and your life full of wonders, Sir.
You are a blessing to the humanity, and an answered prayer to all of us, Sir.
