The Balogun of Ibadanland, His Royal Highness Oba Abimbola Ajibola, has approached the Mapo Grade A Customary Court seeking the dissolution of his marriage to one of his wives, Mrs. Yemisi Adewunmi Abimbola, on allegations of stubbornness, disobedience, no more love, aggressiveness, and other related marital issues.
In the process personally filed by the monarch, Oba Abimbola asked the court to terminate the long-standing union on the grounds of several years of living separately and other issues cited earlier. He also urged the court to restrain the respondent from further harassment, threats, disturbances, or interference in his private life.

When contacted, Akinlolu Oyebamiji of AOC Solicitors & Attorneys confirmed the proceedings and stated that his client, the respondent, has appealed for the court’s consideration, given the personalities involved. He requested that the matter be stepped down to allow both parties to explore an amicable resolution, a position to which counsel for the petitioner also agreed.
Probing further, a reliable source disclosed that the Balogun Olubadan has concluded similar divorce actions against two additional wives, bringing the total number of marriages he seeks to dissolve to three.
The Presiding President of the Grade A Customary Court, Mapo, adjourned the matter to February 4, 2026, for either continuation of the divorce proceedings or presentation of a settlement arrangement between the parties.
