The people of Okeho and the entire Kajola Local Government Area rose to celebration on Saturday as the Senator representing Oyo North Senatorial District, Distinguished Senator Buhari AbdulFatai, PhD, received widespread commendations for facilitating the establishment of the newly approved Federal University of Agriculture and Technology, Okeho (FUNATO).
The appreciation, which formed a major highlight of the 2025 Okeho Day Celebration, was led by the Kajola Council of Obas under the chairmanship of HRM Oba (Dr.) AbdulRafiu Osuolale Mustapha Adeitan II, the Onjo of Okeholand.
The monarch, speaking on behalf of the traditional council and the entire Okeho populace, described the institution as a transformational achievement that would redefine education, economic growth, and youth development across Okeho and its environs for life.

The monarch lauded Senator Buhari for what he termed “uncommon representation,” noting that the lawmaker has consistently delivered democratic dividends since his emergence in the Senate. According to the royal father, the establishment of FUNATO stands as one of the most far-reaching milestones in the history of Kajola Local Government.
The event, which attracted a large crowd of residents and well-wishers, doubled as a symbolic homecoming for Senator Buhari, fondly known as BAF.
Present at the celebration were the Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Barr. Bayo Lawal; Amofin Beulah Adeoye; notable royal fathers; members of the House of Representatives; top university scholars and professors; political leaders; and several distinguished personalities from within and outside the state.
Senator Buhari, in his remarks, expressed gratitude for the recognition and reaffirmed his commitment to championing more developmental projects for the people of Oyo North.
The approval of the Federal University of Agriculture and Technology, Okeho, is widely regarded as a significant boost to the region’s socio-economic advancement, with expectations that full academic activities will stimulate growth, attract investment, and create new opportunities for the youth, and the general area of Oke-Ogun.
