Here stands a man who truly believes in building educational structures that last. He’s a visionary who saw tomorrow and began preparing his people for it. Perhaps, he foresaw Nigeria’s examination bodies like West African Examinations Council (WAEC)’s transition to Computer-Based Testing (CBT), knowing that schools and centres would soon need functional ICT infrastructure to meet accreditation standards.
Who is this man, BAF? Why does his name consistently echo whenever impactful interventions or community development projects are discussed in Oyo State? What makes him different from the leaders we’ve had in the past? Upcoming generations of leaders may do well to study his approach to leadership, governance and social investment. With such massive ICT infrastructure spread across Oyo North, it is not an overstatement to describe the zone as the ICT hub of Oyo State. This singular effort by Senator Buhari AbdulFatai demonstrates a forward-thinking commitment to sustainable development through education and technology.
Realistically, if the future of Oyo State is to be sustained, it must be through initiatives like this — those that invest in the intellectual and technological capacity of our youth are the ones to give the opportunity of ruling this state for better performance. There are no shortcuts to building a prosperous state, it is through commitment and forward thinking ability.
As the political winds begin to blow toward 2027, the All Progressives Congress (APC) must look inward and choose wisely. In Senator Buhari AbdulFatai (PhD), the party has a dependable, visionary leader capable of taking Oyo State to greater heights and restoring its pride of place on the global map.
