In a colourful and inspiring ceremony filled with encomiums, the Oyo State Directorate of the National Orientation Agency (NOA) honoured its outgoing State Director, Dr. Kemi Afolayan, with a well-attended send-off event to celebrate her redeployment to the agency’s national headquarters.

Dr. Afolayan, who took over as Oyo State NOA Director in 2023, has been appointed the National Director of Civic, Values and Democracy Education in Abuja—a promotion widely attributed to her outstanding dedication, reformative leadership, and commitment to rebranding the agency at the state level.

Speaking at the event, the Oyo State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Prince Dotun Oyelade, lauded Dr. Afolayan’s service, describing her as one of the most passionate and result-driven directors the agency has ever had.

Prince Oyelade also commended the synergy between the Ministry of Information and the NOA, noting that the agency is now fulfilling its mandate more effectively, thanks to leaders like Dr. Afolayan and the Director-General of NOA, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu.

In her valedictory remarks, Dr. Afolayan expressed gratitude to God and to all staff and stakeholders who supported her during her tenure.

“My success as State Director would not have been possible without the unwavering support of the NOA staff, both active and retired,” she noted.

“When I assumed office in 2023, I committed myself to repositioning the agency’s public image, and to the glory of God, we have made remarkable progress.”

She further appreciated the Director-General, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, for his belief in the vision of a rebranded NOA, and thanked Governor Seyi Makinde for backing the agency’s initiatives throughout her tenure.

Attendees at the event described Dr. Afolayan as a humble, kind, and people-oriented leader who consistently prioritized staff welfare and stakeholder engagement.
