The revered monarch made the appeal during his address at the 77th Founder’s Day celebration of the University of Ibadan. According to him, education in Nigeria requires “proper and increased funding for it to excel and adequately reflect the needs of society.”

While commending President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what he described as transformative policies since the beginning of the administration, the Sultan stressed that the education sector remains underfunded and urgently requires government intervention.
