Ibadan, Nigeria — In a significant effort to strengthen frontline health protection and support medical personnel across Oyo State, Rolan Foundation, through the generous partnership of the Catholic Medical Mission Board (CMMB), conducted a large-scale distribution of 1,000 high-quality isolation gowns to key health institutions in Ibadan. The distribution exercise underscored the Foundation’s continued commitment to improving healthcare delivery, safeguarding health workers, and supporting institutions at the forefront of disease prevention and treatment.

 

The first stop of the outreach was the Infectious Disease Centre, Olodo, where the State Epidemiologist, Dr. (Mrs.) Iyabo Kareem and Mr. Bello, Head of Laboratory, warmly received the Rolan Foundation team, led by Solomon Adewole, Rolan Foundation Ibadan Branch Coordinator. Dr. Kareem underscored that the isolation gowns are “of utmost importance to the Centre,” particularly in safeguarding frontline health workers who manage infectious diseases daily. She conveyed deep appreciation on behalf of the Commissioner for Health, key stakeholders, and the Oyo State Government for the timely and impactful donation of 400 isolation gowns to the Infectious Disease Centre.

At Adeoyo Maternity Teaching Hospital, the Chief Hospital Administrator, Mrs. Muraina, received the team on behalf of the institution. She praised the Foundation’s kindness for the generous donation of 400 isolation gowns to the Tuberculosis, Leprosy, and HIV units and reaffirmed that such support significantly enhances the safety and capacity of maternal and neonatal healthcare services.

The final distribution was made at the Nigerian Medical Association Secretariat, where the General Secretary, Dr. Tobi Bright, stood in for the NMA Chairman. He expressed sincere appreciation to both the Rolan Foundation and CMMB as he received the donation of 200 units of isolation gowns, stressing that the gowns will go a long way in supporting doctors who work under high-risk conditions.
