The Oyo State Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources Task Force has arrested another four individuals for illegal dumping of refuse on road medians within the Ibadan metropolis.
This latest arrest comes shortly after five other offenders were apprehended for similar offences earlier in the week, bringing the total number of offenders to nine in just a few days.
According to the Ministry, the operation is part of ongoing efforts to ensure environmental sanity and total compliance with the state’s waste management regulations. The Task Force emphasized that illegal dumping of refuse not only defaces the city but also poses serious health and environmental risks.

The Ministry therefore appealed to residents to take ownership of the environment by properly disposing of their waste and reporting anyone found dumping refuse illegally. Environmental cleanliness, the Ministry stressed, is a collective responsibility that requires the cooperation of every resident to achieve a cleaner and healthier Oyo State.
The Ministry further warned that anyone caught violating the state’s environmental laws will face prosecution in accordance with the law.
