The Allied Peoples Movement (APM) gubernatorial candidate in Oyo State, Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi, on Friday extended his consultation visits to the Bodija Estates and Environs Muslim Community (BEEMC) as part of his engagement with relevant stakeholders and religious bodies across the state ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Adekanmbi, who was accompanied by top government officials, joined members of the Muslim community in prayers for the progress and development of Oyo State, while also seeking the support and goodwill of the congregation ahead of the 2027 elections.
Speaking during the visit, Adekanmbi reiterated his familiarity with the mosque and its members, particularly the youth wing, with whom he said he had interacted with at different times over the years.
He noted that his relationship with the youths of the mosque had provided him with opportunities to learn more about Islam and better understand and relate with young people within the community.
Earlier, the Chief Imam of BEEMC, Alhaji Afuye, reiterated the non-partisan nature of the mosque, stressing that its doors remain open to politicians across political parties as well as members of the general public.
Imam Afuye noted that politicians from different parties had visited the mosque, adding that the APC gubernatorial candidate, Oloye Sharafadeen Alli, had also visited the mosque and engaged with members of the Muslim community on several occasions.
The Chairman of BEEMC, Aare Isiaka Olagunju, SAN, in his brief remarks, urged politicians to remain honest and accountable to the people who entrust them with political power.
While Professor K. K. Olosho offers prayer for the APM Candidates present, and also advise them.
Among those who accompanied Adekanmbi on the visit were the Oyo State Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Prof. Musbau Babalola; Personal Assistant to Governor Seyi Makinde, Alhaji Akeem Azeez; and other members of the delegation.
