lIwo, Osun State – A prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Iwoland, Hon. Alamu Akeem Adelani, popularly known as Hon. Ijala, has declared that the APC is set to reclaim Osun State in 2026, vowing that the era of Governor Ademola Adeleke’s misrule will soon come to an end.
Speaking to journalists in Osogbo, Hon. Ijala expressed deep disappointment in the PDP-led administration, describing it as an era of stagnation, empty promises, and wasted opportunities.
> “Since Adeleke assumed office, Osun has seen no meaningful progress. For two years, he failed to recruit a single teacher or health worker. The civil service is suffering, and unemployment has skyrocketed,” he said.
Ijala noted that the people of Osun are fed up with what he called “a governor more focused on showbiz than substance.”
He alleged that Adeleke is already making secret moves to align with the APC as a desperate strategy to cover up his government’s glaring failures.
> “But we don’t want him in APC. We know his game plan. He’s trying to jump ship now that he’s sinking. We reject him outright,” Ijala declared.
According to the APC stalwart, the 2026 gubernatorial race will be fiercely contested, but victory is certain for the APC, especially with the emergence of Omooba Dotun Babayemi as the leading voice of hope for the people.
> “Omooba Dotun Babayemi represents competence, credibility, and vision. He is not just our best chance; he is the people’s choice,” he affirmed.
Ijala said the APC has overcome its internal disagreements and is now more united, focused, and strategically positioned to return to power.
> “We’ve healed. We’re stronger. We’re speaking with one voice. And in 2026, we’ll take back what belongs to us — for the people.”
He also pointed out that the PDP is steadily losing ground, with key defections rocking the party, including the recent loss of two federal lawmakers to the APC.
> “PDP is crumbling before our eyes. Its house is divided. Its members are fleeing. The people have lost faith in Governor Adeleke. Every day, the party grows weaker.”
On the 2027 presidential election, Hon. Ijala expressed confidence that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will secure an even stronger mandate, citing the growing trust in his leadership nationwide.
Highlighting his own political vision, Ijala said his unwavering support for Omooba Dotun Babayemi is based on a rare combination of private sector expertise and grassroots connection.
> “He has been tested across corporate and development sectors since the 1980s, both at home and abroad. But more importantly, he has not lost touch with the people. Osun needs a leader like that – competent, compassionate, and connected.”
A New Dawn is Possible But Only With APC
As 2026 approaches, the political winds in Osun are shifting fast. For many citizens who feel shortchanged by Governor Adeleke’s theatrics and lack of delivery, the APC may very well represent the comeback of true governance. This time, under a man the people can trust: Omooba Dotun Babayemi.
