The event was a powerful display of joy, unity, and a strategic call for collective action among all traders in the state. The atmosphere was electric as the association, operating under the NANTS umbrella, honored several outstanding personalities who have made significant contributions to the progress of the marketplace and beyond.

The most notable awardee was Princess Aderonke Rahmat Adedoja, the revered Chairperson of the National Association of Nigerian Traders (NANTS), Oyo State Chapter, and CEO of the ARA Foundation.
In her stirring acceptance remarks, Princess Adedoja expressed profound appreciation and immediately pivoted to a crucial message for the entire trading community. She stressed that the time for fragmentation and division must end, emphasizing that the collective interest of all traders—from marketers to central traders—must take precedence.

“The cause we are fighting for is the cohesion of all traders across the state. Division only creates losses and prevents us from benefiting fully from the State and Federal Governments,” Princess Adedoja stated passionately.

She issued a resounding charge for all traders across Oyo State and beyond to come together under one central umbrella, NANTS, and speak with one unified voice. This unity, she argued, is the only way to secure meaningful advocacy and administrative benefits for their members.

The host association lauded Princess Adedoja for her impactful tenure. Mr. Abdulazeez Musibaudeen Ojasope, the Coordinator of the Ojoo (IB) Market Men and Women Association, described her leadership as a source of immense strength.

“Since assuming office, Princess Adedoja has provided unwavering motherly support, visionary leadership, and administrative excellence,” said Coordinator Ojasope.

He enthusiastically noted that her tenure represents “a fresh dew marked by significant progress and positive transformation” for NANTS members across the state.

The anniversary celebration attracted a high-profile list of attendees, affirming the association’s standing in the state’s economic and media landscape. Distinguished guests present included Alhaji Oriyomi Hamzat, Chairman of Agidigbo 88.7 FM; Alhaji S.A. Jimoh, Babaloja General of the Men and Women Association; Alhaja Musirafat Al-Maruf, Alaranse Adini of Oyo State; and numerous political dignitaries from Akinyele Local Government and surrounding local governments.

The presence of these officials underscored the government’s recognition of the trading community’s importance. A key part of the encouragement shared with the traders was the crucial reminder that with elections approaching, they must go out and collect their Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVCs) to ensure their voices are heard and they can elect leaders who will prioritize the traders’ welfare.

The celebration concluded with renewed energy and a collective pledge from members to strengthen the spirit of community and pursue the goal of statewide unity among all traders.
