The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State on Monday staged a peaceful protest in Ibadan against Governor Seyi Makinde’s alleged incessant borrowing, warning that the move threatens the future of the state.

The protesters, who gathered at the party’s state secretariat in Oke-Ado and moved around major areas of Ibadan, accused the governor of pushing Oyo into a debt trap, citing the recent approval of a N300 billion loan by the House of Assembly.

“Oyo State is in serious debt crisis with the recent N300bn loan granted to the government. We cannot sit idly while our future is mortgaged,” the protesters declared.
