Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu has expressed profound condolences to Professor Adeolu Akande, former Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), on the passing of his beloved father, Pa Amos Adetunji Akande.
Pa Akande, a revered patriarch and distinguished community leader, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at the remarkable age of 90.
In a heartfelt condolence message, the Minister described the passing of Pa Akande as the “end of a significant chapter.” He eulogized the late nonagenarian as a man of great virtue, strength, and wisdom, whose life was a testament to service, integrity, and dedication to family and community.
“The news of Pa Amos Adetunji Akande’s transition came to me with a deep sense of loss, even at the fullness of his years. He was clearly a pillar of strength, not just for his immediate family, but for his entire community. The values of hard work, discipline, and service he instilled in his children are evident in the impactful contributions of Prof. Adeolu Akande to national development, particularly in the telecommunications sector.
