Lamidi Ajadi: He Lived A Life of Service, Faith, Philanthropy — Akeem Agbaje Mourns

Barr. Akeem Agbaje, chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and a prominent son of Ibadan, has expressed deep sadness over the passing of Alhaji Chief Lamidi Ajadi, a revered elder statesman, devout Muslim, and highly respected businessman whose death marks the end of an era in Ibadanland.

In a condolence statement released, Barr. Agbaje described Alhaji Ajadi as a shining example of integrity, leadership, and service, not only to the Muslim Ummah but to Ibadan as a whole.

“Alhaji Chief Lamidi Ajadi was more than a community figure; he was a pillar whose influence spanned faith, enterprise, and humanity. A successful businessman and generous philanthropist, Baba’s contributions to the economic upliftment of Ibadan and the empowerment of many across generations are well known and widely respected.”

He further acknowledged the deceased’s pivotal role in strengthening the unity and moral fabric of the Ibadan Muslim community and serving as a voice of moderation and wisdom in both spiritual and civic matters.

“He was a father figure to many of us. His guidance, his unwavering faith, and his quiet but impactful philanthropy shaped lives and created legacies that will live far beyond his years. His absence will be deeply felt, not only by the Muslim Ummah but by all who encountered his exemplary life.”

While offering prayers for the repose of the soul of the late Alhaji Chief Ajadi, Barr. Agbaje also extended his heartfelt condolences to the family, the Muslim community in Ibadan and Oyo State, and all associates of the deceased.

“May Almighty Allah forgive his shortcomings, accept his return, and admit him into Aljannah Firdaus. May his good works continue to speak for him and inspire us all to serve God and humanity with sincerity and humility. Ameen.”
