Oyo State Commissioner for E-nergy and Mineral Resources, Barr. Seun Temilolu Nurudeen Ashamu Pushes for Grassroots Energy Access at Lagos Energy Summit
In a significant move towards achieving universal electricity access in Nigeria, Commissioners of Power and Ener.gy from across the country convened a two-day meeting in Lagos from November 25th to 26th, 2024.
The gathering, aimed at fostering collaboration, capacity building, and institutionalizing a peer review mechanism, focused on advancing sub-national electricity markets and improving power access at the state level.
In his remarks, Barr. Nurudeen Temilolu Seun Ashamu, Oyo State Commissioner for E.nergy and Mineral Resources, commended the initiative, emphasizing the critical role of state collaboration in unlocking the potential of the sub-national electricity markets.

He also highlighted the importance of ensuring that all Nigerians, especially those in underserved communities, have access to reliable and affordable electricity.
