A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and aspirant for Egbeda/Ona-Ara Federal Constituency, Hon. Akinjide Kazeem Akinola, has extended his congratulations to Hon. Akin Alabi, Member of the House of Representatives, on his installation as the Jagun Olubadan of Ibadanland as approved by the Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Owolabi Olakunlehin Ige I, and the Olubadan-in-Council.
Hon. Akinola, a retired Army Captain and businessman from Olode-Adetoun Village in Ona-Ara Local Government Area, described the installation as a significant step in the advancement of Ibadan’s cultural heritage and leadership structure.
In a statement released through his Media Assistant, Akintunde Yusuf, Akinola expressed joy over Alabi’s progression on the revered Olubadan chieftaincy line.

“I’m happy for my brother on his successful ascension within the Olubadan lineage as Jagun. This is a commendable milestone that further affirms the dynamism and inclusivity of Ibadan’s traditional leadership,” he said.

He emphasized that beyond political interest, the new role signifies increased responsibility in upholding the traditions and developmental aspirations of Ibadan.

“Ibadan is rich in history, tradition, and culture. I believe that the new Jagun Olubadan, Hon. Akin Alabi, will join others in preserving the legacies of our forefathers who labored with courage and sacrifice to build the Ibadan we are proud of today. This is a call to service.”
Hon. Akinola, on behalf of his family and political team, congratulated Hon. Akin Alabi, urged him to contribute meaningfully to the progress and unity of Ibadanland.
