Liverpool FC will retire the number 20 jersey across all levels of the club in honour and memory of Diogo Jota.

The decision comes as a mark of respect for Jota’s remarkable contribution to the club, both on and off the pitch. Since joining Liverpool in 2020, the Portuguese forward became a fan favourite for his tireless work ethic, clinical finishing, and passionate performances in key fixtures. His goals, assists, and dedication were instrumental during pivotal moments in domestic and European competitions.

Liverpool’s Chief Executive Officer, Billy Hogan, described the gesture as “a permanent tribute to a player who gave everything to the badge.”
