“On this International Women’s Day, I stand with you—not just as the CEO of the ARA Foundation, but as a sister, a mother, and a political leader dedicated to our collective journey. This year, we embrace the powerful global theme: ‘Give to Gain.’ It reminds us that when we give our support, resources, and mentorship to women, our entire nation gains strength and prosperity.
From the vibrant energy of our marketplaces to the strategic halls of leadership, women are the backbone of our progress. At the ARA Foundation, our mission has always been clear: to protect, empower, and uplift. We believe that when you invest in a woman, you aren’t just changing one life—you are transforming a family, a community, and ultimately, our nation.
The PLAC Agenda: Securing Our Seat
We must throw our full weight behind the PLAC Special Seats Bill. This constitutional amendment is a vital corrective measure to create 182 additional seats—across the Senate, House of Representatives, and State Houses of Assembly—exclusively for women. This ensures our voices are constitutionally protected where laws are made. It is time for a truly inclusive democracy!
Looking Ahead to 2027: A Call to Aspire
As we approach the 2027 elections, my message is urgent: Women, it is time to aspire. I call on all women to vie for political positions without fear of harassment, bullying, or intimidation. We must refuse to be pushed to the sidelines.
I appeal to our communities for financial aid and moral support. Running for office is a collective journey, and we need the resources to compete effectively. I urge you to support female candidates based on their vision and competence, regardless of their political party. To the young women finding their path: your voice is your power. To the established leaders: your mentorship and financial backing are the greatest gifts you can give.
