The Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, is currently holding a closed-door meeting with aggrieved aspirants of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in a bid to resolve the lingering crisis within the party over the emergence of Hon. Adewale Olatunji as its candidate for the August 16 bye-election in Ibadan North Federal Constituency.

It will be recalled that following the fallout from the party’s primary election, the APC has been engulfed in internal wrangling, with discontented aspirants challenging the process that produced Olatunji as the flagbearer. The unresolved grievances have continued to portray a divided house, raising concerns ahead of the crucial bye-election.

While other major political contenders for the federal seat have intensified their campaigns and consultations, the APC has remained preoccupied with internal reconciliation efforts. The aggrieved aspirants have remained resolute in their demand for justice and adherence to democratic principles, which they believe were compromised during the primaries.
