Hon. Akinola Kazeem Akinjide (AKA), a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Egbeda/Ona-Ara Federal Constituency, Oyo State, has felicitated with Muslims and Nigerians at large on the commencement of the Islamic New Year, Hijrah 1448AH.
In a felicitation message, Akinola Kazeem urged Muslims to reflect on the lessons and values embodied in the historic migration (Hijrah) of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), particularly the virtues of peace, holiness, sacrifice, unity, and brotherhood.
According to him, “Islam promotes peace, holiness, and brotherhood as fundamental principles of human existence. These values are non-negotiable and remain essential for building a peaceful, progressive, and prosperous society. Unfortunately, many of these virtues appear to be fading in our communities, thereby making our society vulnerable to various social vices and challenges.”
The founder of the AKA Foundation stressed the need for Nigerians, irrespective of religious, ethnic, or political affiliations, to embrace mutual understanding, tolerance, and collective responsibility towards nation-building.
Akinola noted that Nigeria remains a blessed and promising nation whose progress depends on the commitment of its citizens to uphold values that promote peace, justice, and development.
He further called on leaders at all levels to continue prioritising the welfare of the people through policies and initiatives that foster social harmony, economic growth, and community development.
While wishing Muslims a rewarding and spiritually fulfilling Hijrah 1448AH, Akinola prayed for lasting peace, unity, and prosperity in Nigeria, expressing optimism that the nation would overcome its challenges through collective efforts and unwavering faith in God.
