Akinola described the incident as deeply saddening and emphasized the urgent need for improved safety control measures before loading, during transit, and after offloading by operators of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) at both wholesale and retail levels. He noted that stronger adherence to safety protocols would significantly reduce the likelihood of such preventable occurrences.

He further commiserated with those who lost properties to the inferno, which occurred in the evening as confirmed by the Oyo State Fire Service. “It was indeed a heartbreaking incident — three lives lost, properties destroyed, and families thrown into mourning,” he lamented.
