The Vice-Chancellor, Emmanuel Alayande University of Education, Oyo Professor Olanrewaju Olaniyan has commended the Alajobi Ogbomoso Staff Association, EAUED Chapter for its positive impact and dedication to the development of the institution. The Chief Executive stated this at the recent annual Alajobi Ogbomoso Association get-together held at the Twin Hall, Faculty of Science Education of the University.
In his goodwill message, he lauded the commitment and competence of Ogbomoso indigenes holding leadership positions within the university, attributing their successes to the industrious spirit commonly associated with the people of Ogbomoso. He urged the members to continue contributing meaningfully to the growth of the university, noting that its development is a shared responsibility, regardless of its location. He also called on well-meaning Ogbomoso sons and daughters to support the institution, emphasizing that the transition from college to university requires collective effort and sacrifice.
In his welcome address, the Chairman of the association, Dr. Solomon Tunde Ogunbunmi, expressed gratitude to God for sustaining the relevance of the association within the university community.

He also appreciated the university management, ably led by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Olanrewaju Olaniyan, for their presence and consistent support for the association. Dr. Ogunbunmi commended members for their dedication, resilience, and contributions toward the success of the event.
He then called on all members to remain united and to continue being worthy ambassadors of Ogbomoso in their respective spheres of influence.

Delivering the keynote lecture titled “Unity in Diversity: Celebrating Our Heritage and Excellence,” the Guest Lecturer, Professor Josiah Olusegun Ajiboye, highlighted the importance of unity among Ogbomoso indigenes, irrespective of their local government areas.
With passion and clarity, he urged the association to remain united and to harness their collective strength for the growth and prominence of Ogbomoso both within the state and across the nation. The Governing Council Member-at-Large encouraged members to align themselves with the developmental agenda of Ogbomoso.
Responding on behalf of the retired members, former Chairman of the association, Dr. Jacob Olusayo Adewuyi, expressed deep appreciation for the honour bestowed upon them. He commended the growth and progress of the association and encouraged members to remain steadfast in their pursuit of excellence and service.

Notable among the awardees at the event were Major General Oladayo Popoola, Prof. Josiah Olusegun Ajiboye, Dr. Samson Adewale Adegoke, and Air Vice Marshal Jacob Adigun – all honoured for their exemplary leadership and contributions to community development. Others included Hon. Sanjo Adedoyin (Majority Leader, Oyo State House of Assembly), Hon. Bimbo Oladeji, Dr. Solomon Olatunde Ladipo, Dr. Jacob Olusayo Adewuyi, Deacon Olayiwola Solomon Bolaji, and Prof. Amos Oyetunde Alabi. A posthumous award was presented to Otunba Christopher Adebayo Alao-Akala in recognition of his legacy as a beacon of transformational leadership.
The event which featured an array of engaging activities, including a public lecture, cultural presentations, appreciation of retired members, and awards to distinguished personalities, was filled with colour, culture, and camaraderie, leaving lasting memories for all who attended.
