A humanitarian and woman politician, and chieftain of All Progressive Congress (APC) Dr. Olamide Junaid, has paid tribute to the late former Governor of Oyo State and Senator representing Oyo South, His Excellency, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, on the occasion of the 5th year remembrance of his passing.
In her message, Dr. Olamide described the man fondly known as “Archipelago” as a rare breed of political leader and developer whose influence shaped the landscape of governance in Oyo State and Nigeria at large.
According to her “When you talk about boldness, the late Ajimobi stood tall. Speak of intellectualism, he sat at the front row. When it came to quality and class, he set the standard. His love for Oyo State was not only passionate but deeply intentional. In every sphere — governance, leadership, or development — he was always at the forefront,” she stated. “Late Gov. Abiola Ajimobi is one of those who endeared us to politics.”

The Ibadan North House of Representatives aspirant reflecting further, she added, “But on June 25, 2020, Allah called him home. He responded, leaving behind enduring legacies that continue to speak for him. Five years on, the people of Oyo State still deeply feel his absence. His leadership, vision, and courage remain unmatched.”
“The irreplaceable vacuum his passing left in the progressive political family still showing in our party. And the journey to find another true and sincere leader like Late Senator Abiola Ajimobi is still on. His departure created a void too large to fill.”

She also extended her thoughts and prayers to the family he left behind, especially Dr. (Mrs.) Florence Ajimobi. “To our dear mummy, Dr. (Mrs.) Florence Ajimobi, we offer prayers for continued strength and peace. May Allah sustain and protect the family he left behind. We acknowledge the recent challenges, and we pray that the Almighty fortifies the household as they carry on his shining legacy.”
