As the fifth anniversary of the passing of former Oyo State Governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, is marked, All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain and Egbeda/Ona-Ara Federal Constituency hopeful, Hon. Akinola Kazeem, has joined other eminent Nigerians in paying tribute to the late statesman.
In a statement released through his Media Assistant, Akintunde Yusuf, Hon. Akinola described the late Abiola Ajimobi as a symbol of bravery, excellence, development, and people-centric governance.
“The life and legacy of the ‘Great Archipelago,’ as I fondly call him, represent courage, quality leadership, and an unwavering commitment to the progress of Oyo State and Nigeria at large,” Akinola said.

The retired military captain further emphasized that Ajimobi’s absence continues to be deeply felt, especially within the APC and across the state. “Anyone who truly knew him during his lifetime would agree that Oyo State still misses his exceptional leadership and intellectual depth. His legacy remains unmatched, particularly among the progressive family of the APC,” he added.

As the remembrance is observed, Akinola called for collective prayers for the Ajimobi family. “Let us all come together to pray for the continued strength, protection, and peace of the Ajimobi dynasty, ans our matriarch, Dr. (Mrs) Florence Ajimobi. May God shield the family from any form of calamity and continue to uphold the legacy of the late statesman.”
