Former Oyo Commissioner for Finance and Deputy Chief of Staff under the late Governor Abiola Ajimobi, Mr. Abimbola Adekanmbi, has formally resigned his membership of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Adekanmbi, who also contested as a senatorial aspirant under the APC in the 2023 general elections, announced his resignation in a letter addressed to the Chairman of the party in his Ward 1, Ibadan North East Local Government Area.
While the letter did not state the specific reason for his decision to leave the party, Adekanmbi described the move as the end of an important chapter in his political journey that began with the formation of the APC.
In his resignation letter, which was also copied to the APC Chairmen of Ward 4, Ona Ara Local Government, and the Oyo State APC Chairman, Adekanmbi expressed gratitude for the opportunities and experiences gained during his time in the party.
“I hereby formally tender my resignation from the All Progressives Congress (APC). This marks the close of a significant chapter in my political journey, one that began from the very inception of the party,” he wrote.

“Through seasons of growth and challenge, I have remained steadfast in my commitment, and I am grateful for the honour to contribute, in my own way, to the service and progress of our dear Oyo State.”
Adekanmbi acknowledged his collaboration with various party members and leaders at all levels, describing the relationships and shared experiences as memorable.
“Over the years, I have had the privilege of working alongside passionate men and women at the ward, local government, state, and national levels. Together, we shared moments of purpose, built enduring bonds, and shaped collective memories that I will always hold dear. I extend my sincere good wishes to the APC and to its members, as I continue to pray for the continued growth and progress of our dearly beloved Oyo State,” the letter concluded.
